New York Fashion week at Lincoln Center was the usual flurry of designers, models, photographers, fashionistas and general fabulous fashion and all that goes with it. But this season had one fantastic history making new difference- Eden Miller’s Cabiria show on Friday.
What was so ground breaking? Miller delivered gorgeous colors and bold prints modeled by beautiful, curvy, confident women. Interesting that there is so much buzz about the ‘plus size’ element of the collection (60% of american women are size 12 and up), so it is not surprising that shock waves rippled through the tents when the curvaceous models walked the @CabiriaStyle catwalk. Does labeling average size women ‘plus’ imply that smaller women are ‘minus’? Is the fashion world beginning to see the beauty in strong and healthy women of every size? This past week at Lincoln Center proved to be a historic and encouraging step in the celebration of ALL women-Bravo!!
